We all know that wolves are a significant animal since they are a key stone species in the environment especially being one of the top predators. A study done on May 23 with Nature Communications they have analyze the top predators in three different continents seeing the what they eat and whom they compete with. They were given back some shocking results with the data they found out that these predator hardly have control of these smaller predators being cut back and fragmented. Researches have suggested to give these top predators more room around rather than the protected ares that are given to them so we can restore predator-predator relationships. For instance, the Grey Wolves typically live across the swans of North America and Western States of Canadian Provinces keeping coyotes in check. However, we humans have been dominating territories and because we are taking up so much land we are shrinking the amount of land it reducing the amount of space for wolves to control or keep the coyotes in place in which the populations have been increasing since. It is interesting on how much land being reduce can affect the wolves in which impacts the coyotes who are not being checked.

Over the past decade we have been experiencing hot weather through out the world but this has its consequences for instance the glaciers melting that will contribute to the sea-level rise. However, with the glaciers melting it can have a greater affect on us and the future such as for our unborn children children's since these glaciers gives us fresh water to keep us hydrated as well as communities around the world. But these glaciers are shrinking at a rapid pace. An expert Twila Moon been visiting Alaska observing these glaciers by setting up cameras around the largest glaciers to see what happens every two years especially with climate rising quickly and the results are shocking. She mentions that these glaciers are literally melting before our eye but we can see it by day by day because the processes is slow but when you make a time lapse it is shocking and awful at the same time because we are ones who are causing this. We change these results by reducing pollution such as car exhaust ect... Just like the glaciers it will take a bit of time but it will benefit not us but the future of others to be born.
As we all know big cities are just massive companies producing pollution that contaminates the world more than any other source but what if we can reduce it by a little bit? Well, according to the article of "Atmospheric Environment " they have suggested that we should put low hedges to reduce the pollution from automobiles in big cities nearby buildings close to roads then planting enormous trees that make pollution more concentrated depending on wind conditions or build up configuration. As for a collaborate study from the UK, Europe, and the United states have found out that just planting taller trees only help the open areas or less densely populated cities. Furthermore, they have discovered that having a green infrastructure like street trees, vegetation wall or barriers and living roofs can also reduce energy consumption as well as mitigate climate change. www.sciencedaily.com/news/earth_climate/pollution/
Due to a recent research done by UCLA and University of Houston they have found that an immense amount of groundwater has been loss here in central California due to the recent drought we encountered the past year; however, it is leaving us with numerous question on sustainability in the agriculture areas. These researchers have been examining and comparing the groundwater consumption from 2002-2016 including the two droughts during that time lapse from 2007-2009 and 2012-2016 and since California alone is one of the biggest agriculture industries in the whole world, bringing in about 1/3 of fruits and vegetables it is becoming a concern of the water supply. According to another research they acknowledge in their article, is that during the two periods of the time we lost about forty cubic kilometers. On top of that during the drought here in central valley our farmers here were force to use wells contributing to the water depletion to water their thirsty crops they have implemented that season such as almonds, pistachios, and walnuts. And now researchers are hopping to find how much can we recovery after a server droughts. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/05/170518104105.htm
From the Swansea university, professor Luca Borgor has been partnering with France, Switzerland, and the United States on a study to look at the body-mass of albatross. And knowing that the Albatross is a sexual dimorphic species that share parental care. According to the study they have found that males albatross been gaining weight over the past decades enhancing performance in adult survival, breeding, chick mass, and juvenile survival. However, this was not the case for females. These male Albatross tent to have heavier sons as well but not heavier daughters ,thus increasing more improved males increasing the overall fitness in males.
