We all know that wolves are a significant animal since they are a key stone species in the environment especially being one of the top predators. A study done on May 23 with Nature Communications they have analyze the top predators in three different continents seeing the what they eat and whom they compete with. They were given back some shocking results with the data they found out that these predator hardly have control of these smaller predators being cut back and fragmented. Researches have suggested to give these top predators more room around rather than the protected ares that are given to them so we can restore predator-predator relationships. For instance, the Grey Wolves typically live across the swans of North America and Western States of Canadian Provinces keeping coyotes in check. However, we humans have been dominating territories and because we are taking up so much land we are shrinking the amount of land it reducing the amount of space for wolves to control or keep the coyotes in place in which the populations have been increasing since. It is interesting on how much land being reduce can affect the wolves in which impacts the coyotes who are not being checked.
